A WIP for one of my friends...

Robot Man

At long last, my Scorpion is finished. This half-breed between an Armored Chasseur and a mecanical scorpion will bring the terror to my ennemies! The piece's been sitting on my workbench for months now. It was one of the first models that I've glued together for my Cybertronic army. It was in different stage of developpement for the past weeks since I wasn't able to determine the painting scheme for him. Quite pleased on how it it came out in the end. The next one will be a lot faster to prepare. Can't wait to get it fielded this Thursday.

Je travaille présentement sur mes Mirromen pour mon armée de Cybertronic. J'adore le fluff entourant cette unité. La propagande corporatiste les représente comme des chevaliers de la lumière par excellence. Leur nom vient de leur armure qui leur permet d'absorber la lumière afin de mieux se camoufler, les transformant en quelque sorte en ninjas cybernétiques. Si l'armure est déactivée, la lumière reflète sur le fini chrome de l'armure pour aveugler et confondre leurs ennemies. Dû à leurs capacités d'infiltration, les Mirrormen sont souvent utilisés dans des campagnes de sabotage, d'assassinat et d'acquisition de ressources auprès des autres Mégacorporations.

Quant aux miniatures du KickStarter, et bien, je les trouve très belles, mais bon dieu! Que de collage! Tout vient en pièces détachées, torse, jambes, bras, têtes. Tenter de faire tenir tout cela peu prendre quelques heures.

Aussi, le contenu de certains paquets était endommagé et la qualité des épées cybernétiques n'était simplement pas ce que je recherchais.

Ne me laissant pas abattre, j'ai décidé d'appliquer LA RÈGLE DU C00l! Qu'est-ce qui est plus cool qu'une épée cybernétique? UNE PLUS GROSSE ÉPÉE CYBERNÉTIQUE!!!! Ayant quelques épées de Marines de W40K, je me suis donc attelé à convertir les épées moumounes avec des hachoirs dignes d'un animé japonais!

Le résultat final est assez étonnant.

J'ai bien hâte de terminer de les peinturer. Cela devrait être terminé d'ici une semaine environ...

Par ailleurs, Prodos semble avoir écouté leur clientèle et ont retravaillé les modèles initiaux

Certes, ils ont l'air bien, mais je crois que je vais préférer les miens. Mais le fait qu'ils ont réduit le nombre de morceaux à coller va vraiment aider à aller chercher une base de joueurs plus grande.

Of Androids and Toasters

Last year I participated to the Warzone Resurrection KickStarter. I was a fan of the setting ever since one of my friends made me play the old Siege of the Citadel (SotC) game. At first I was thinking of using some of the miniatures of the KickStarter to pimp my boardgame. But as the campaign was coming to a close I though I'd give a try to Wargaming. And so I got onboard heavily to stock up on the various factions on the cheap. I've received a first shipment in Febuary of this year and it was a mountain of plastic!!! Now after more than 20 hours of slaving away at that mountain of plastic I can say that I'm getting better at that painting thing. My Cybertronics are half way there. Still have plenty to do. If anyone can recommend some fast painting techniques I'd appreciate it.

Now for some chrome and circuits!

Dr. Diana Commander

Had some issues with this model. First try the colors where all wrong and I had to strip it and start anew. Then I lost one of her arms to the roaming vacuum. Good thing I had spare models from the KickStarter. Magnetized the Med Kit for easy repositioning and to give me some options for future alterations. Also real handy for transporting. Decided for the classic look for this one: blue coat with green stripes. Quite pleased how it turned out, though if I dared, I'd retouch the eyes a bit.

Dr. Diana Neo-Clone

Decided to magnetize the base for this one. Since they can be used as Squad Commander upgrades and as Lord choices I decided I wanted to keep my options opened. I've also magnetized the back as I did with the Commander. Also suffered of the roaming vacuum attack for this model. The arms on these are so small that it's real easy to lose them if you're not carefull... Managed a conversion with one of the Reaper Bones zombies arms and a spare gun. Since Cybertronic is known for its cybernetics it fits quite well with the feel.

Everasure

Now this is one kickass miniature. Love the style of it and it was a real pleasure to paint. My only beef, there's so much small details that it's sometimes hard to determine what to paint.

Attilas

Terminator's long lost relative. Nothing fancy for those but the bases where fun to do.

Enhanced Machinators

Now these guys where a real pleasure. The only problem is that you have to be carefull with the limbs. I dropped one the other day and its leg broke. Nothing too serious that a bit of super glue couldn't fix but my heart skipped a beat when it happened.

Chasseurs

The new chasseurs that are available are light years better than those that where shipped with the KickStarter: crisper details, easier to assemble and a lot less flash to clean. Makes me wonder what I'll be doing my KickStarter kits now that I have 3 squads of chasseurs...

Exterminator MK1

Haaaa! Now that's a robot! Love the details on this one. I was aiming for a worn and battered look and I find it came out quite well.

All in all, I'm having blast painting this faction! Can't wait to see how my scorpions will come out.

Bienvenue à mon petit coin du web

Ce blog est un petit projet que je tente afin de faire le suivi de mes avancés dans le milieu du wargaming et de la peinture de miniatures. L'objectif de celui-ci sera avant tout d'être une plateforme ou je pourais faire la chronologie de mes projets et partager avec d'autres enthousiastes du milieu.

Étant un gamer assumé, j'y afficherais aussi de temps en autre mes réflexions sur certains jeux de table et vidéos que je découvre ou qui m'ont particulirèment marqué.

Voilà pour l'essentiel du programme. Attendez plusieurs mises à jours dans les prochaines semaines alors que l'engrenage commence à tourner que j'approvoise à nouveau le HTML! Au plaisir de voir avoir abord!
